Paddy Rao is an elementary school teacher at International Connections Academy (iNaCA). She began teaching in 2012 and joined Connections Academy® in 2015. Ms. Rao has a bachelor’s degree in physics from Bharathidasan University in India and a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Houston–Clear Lake (UHCL) in Texas. She shares her teaching journey below:
“The pathway of teaching combines my love for both communication and education—hence I chose to become a teacher. As soon as I finished my degree in communication at UHCL, I was offered a job by The Princeton Review and trained to become a Scholastic Achievement Test (SAT) and Graduate REcord Examinations (GRE) instructor. Concurrently, I got my teaching certification and became a Texas educator certified as generalist 4–8 with an English as a second language (ESL) endorsement. I recently added a certification in high school composite science (grades 7–12).
“At International Connections Academy, I love connecting with students and families from around the world and across the United States. The involved parents, interested students, and a wonderful team of teachers make teaching at iNaCA a richly interactive experience. Online teaching gives the benefits of personalization and flexibility to both student and teacher.
“International Connections Academy provides a rich array of courses and electives to optimize the potential of any student and also equips them to understand how to interact in a diverse technological environment. It is a culturally and academically diverse pool of talented individuals connected by the desire to learn, teach, and succeed.”
In Ms. Rao’s spare time, she loves to sing Indian classical and devotional music and watch happy movies with her family. She also enjoys long strolls, reading, and writing.
This is a school where students will be educated and empowered, will be valued and given the personal attention to achieve the goals they set for themselves.
