Amy is a proud parent from Maryland, United States, with two graduates and currently has a sixth and ninth grader at International Connections Academy (iNaCA).
"I am an International Connections Academy (iNaCA) Learning Coach for two of my children, Samantha and Patrick Jr. They have been with Connections Academy since kindergarten. My daughters Carol-Anne and Sarah are graduates of iNaCA. My husband, Patrick Sr., and I are thrilled with the quality and flexibility of the program.
I was first introduced to iNaCA ten years ago! My family was looking for a virtual school that would allow our children to spend more time with their father, who works at night. Family time is really important to us. Patrick Sr. teaches our kids math and science during the day, and I handle the English and social studies at night. The flexibility allows us to split our learning day.
The teachers at iNaCA go out of their way to help and stay connected with my children. I know my children are learning because their progress is tested three times throughout the year. This process allows the teachers to zone in on their trouble areas and keep them on track. The flexible pacing of the program has been amazing for our family. Patrick Jr., who is in the ninth grade, was able to move ahead and is now taking a 10th grade math class.
Samantha and Patrick Jr. stay connected with friends through LiveLesson® sessions and clubs during the day. In their free time, they use Skype to communicate with their friends and enjoy visiting the YMCA.
After our ten years with iNaCA, the teachers are family to us. Staying in touch with them is the key, and knowing that they really are just a phone call away is such a blessing. If a teacher is teaching another class at a particular time, either of my children can jump into a LiveTutor session or still get the assistance they need.
My son, Patrick, is now taking coding classes in high school because he wants to pursue a cybersecurity career. He is also taking Japanese as a foreign language so he can enjoy his anime shows even more. Samantha’s aspirations range from clothing designer to chef, to now being a writer. With every new elective offered, she changes her mind.
iNaCA was the perfect fit for our family."
